Further product information
The EF2 ...5 fittings are made of PE, PPH, PVC or PTFE, depending on the requirements. The electrode rods are made of stainless steel 1.4571, Hastelloy C, titanium or tantalum. This makes the EF2 ...5 conductive electrodes suitable for use with highly aggressive media.
The ER-107, ER-217 or ER-145 electrode relays (intrinsically safe control circuit), approved as overfill and leakage evaluators (Z-65.13-100 and Z-65.13-405) supply a measuring voltage which causes an operating current to flow through the signal line via the resistor built into the conductive electrode. If the conductive medium rises to the level of the electrode tips of the level detector, a circuit is closed. This causes the potential-free output contacts on the electrode relay to switch over.
In order to meet the different conductivities of the liquids, the electrode relays ER-107, ER-217 or ER-145 can be supplied in two different response ranges (1 ...30 k / 6 ...90 k). Within these ranges, the response value can be adjusted by means of a potentiometer. Alternatively, an evaluation circuit (ET450/451) can be integrated directly in the connection head.
If there is a line interruption, the output contacts are switched over (as in the case of an alarm caused by reaching the response level or voltage failure). If a line short-circuit occurs, this corresponds to an "alarm message" (as in the case of reaching the response level). The electrode relay operates according to the closed-circuit current principle, i.e. in the event of a power failure, the output contacts switch as they do when the response height is reached.
- High chemical resistance
- Use in category 2 (Ex zone 1) with ER-145
- Line monitoring for cable short circuit / cable breakage
System structure
The overfill protection consists of the conductive electrode EFV2 and the electrode relays ER-107, ER-217 or ER-145 (see heading 10). The overfill protection can be connected to our "Optical Acoustic Alarm Devices" of the OAA-300 series.
Electronic part in connection head
The electronic part ET-450 / ET-451 is installed in the connection head of the electrode EF2 and has a supply voltage of 24 V DC. The electronic part has a normally open contact output in closed-circuit current design (probe not wetted: contact is closed).
